The Cat Man of Aleppo
The Cat Man of Aleppo (written by Irene Latham and Karim Shamsi-Basha, Penguin Putnam, 2020) is a picture book based on a real story of a man who decided to stay in war-ton Aleppo, Syria to dedicate time and rescue and take care of displaced cats and other animals.
The book was awarded Caldecott Honor, one of the most prestigious awards given to picture book artists in the USA, in 2021.
