NY TIMES – quarantine sketches –
The New York Times April 16, 2020
17 illustrators quarantined in New York were asked to draw what we see outside of our windows.
I made my contribution as a location drawing, with gel pens directly onto the paper without any underdrawing. (Some digital color after.)
My apartment faces the back side of Columbia University office, which is usually great. When I’m home morning nights and weekends they are never there. But now I’m stuck at home, I stare at dark empty rooms with shining exit signs in the background. Nothing in there moved for as long as I have been home.
