OK, the title sounds a bit clickbait-y. But let me express that it is one of the most exciting recent projects I have worked on.
Locust Moon Press, the guys who brought you multi-award winning Little Nemo Dream another Dream did it again. This time, they have collaborated with Philadelphia Museum of Art (for those to whom it doesn’t ring a bell, remember Rocky?) for their new exhibit The Wrath of Gods: Masterpieces by Rubens, Michelangelo, and Titian which just opened over the weekend.
Comic artists and illustrators (including myself) contributed works that pay homage to Rubens’ masterpiece Prometheus Bound and the myth of the titan. The artworks were made into book Prometheus Eternal which can be seen during the show (see the photo of the book in the exhibit) as well as available for purchase at the museum. Participating artists are: James Comey, Farel Darlymple, Lisk Feng, David Mack, Dave McKean, Grant Morrison, Paul Pope, Bill Sienkiewicz and Andrea Tsurumi.
The show will be up till December 6, 2015. On October 28, I, along with a few other participating artists, am heading to the museum for a talk event. I will post the details soon. Please stay tuned.
